Barcelona Supercomputing Center – Centro Nacional de Supercomputación (BSC-CNS) is the national supercomputing centre in Spain. Established in 2005, BSC specialises in High-Performance Computing and manages MareNostrum, one of the most powerful supercomputers in Europe.
BSC’s mission is twofold: to provide supercomputing infrastructure and services to European scientists, and to generate knowledge and technology for transfer to industry and society. The centre’s multidisciplinary research team focuses on Computer Sciences, Life Sciences, Earth Sciences, and Computer Applications in Science and Engineering.
BSC is a EuroHPC JU hosting entity and actively participates in the main European HPC initiatives, in close cooperation with other European supercomputing centres.
