Forschungszentrum Juelich GmbH (FZJ) – a member of the Helmholtz Association – is one of the largest research centres in Europe. It pursues cutting-edge interdisciplinary research addressing the challenges facing society in the fields of health, energy and the environment, and information technologies.

Within the FZJ, the Jülich Supercomputing Centre (JSC) is one of the three national supercomputing centres in Germany as part of the Gauss Centre for Supercomputing (GCS).

Presently, JSC installs the first European Exascale Supercomputer JUPITER. JSC successfully coordinated numerous national and European projects including the PRACE Preparatory Phase and Implementation Phase projects.
